This has the following advantages: almost all lateral movements are eliminated because the girth slides within the breastplate; pressure is evenly distributed over a larger area; the special shape of the breastplate, which is characterised externally by a curved, round profile and internally by three oval inserts made of very soft material, creates an air cushion that further reduces pressure.
