The Bedale is made from 6oz waxed cotton (Sylkoil) and was first launched in 1980. Characteristic elements such as a two-way zipper with a snap button placket, two large bellows pockets and two moleskin-lined handwarmer pockets, as well as the corduroy collar, give the jacket an unmistakable look. Typical features of the Bedale Jacket are its slightly shorter cut and ribbed cuffs at the sleeve ends. The jacket is still manufactured today in the company's own production facility in South Shields, northeast England. The jacket can be supplemented with a warming lining and a hood.
