The men's Beaufort model is a slightly longer-cut waxed jacket that tends to run large. It is made from water-repellent, waxed cotton in durable 6oz Thornproof quality. The jacket can be supplemented with a warm lining and a matching hood (see below). Even today, the jacket, which has been part of the collection since 1983, is still manufactured in the company's own production facility in South Shields in northeast England. Characteristic details such as the corduroy collar, a two-way zipper, and practical handwarmer pockets give the weather-resistant waxed jacket its unmistakably classic look. Features of the jacket include a zippered pocket on the back, an easily accessible zippered pocket under the storm flap, and a cotton lining with a tartan pattern. The Beaufort waxed jacket can be comfortably worn over a blazer. Waxed jackets are robust, durable garments that are re-waxed as needed to maintain their water-repellent properties.
