Bit material
Stainless steel
The most common material for bits is stainless steel. Stainless steel comes in different compositions and consists of steel and various metals. Steel, in turn, is iron that has been alloyed with carbon.
To obtain stainless steel, the steel is mixed with various metals to form different alloys. The most commonly used alloy for stainless steel bits consists of steel, chromium, and nickel.
Manufacturer information
Mouthpiece
Double-jointed
A double-jointed mouthpiece is a very common mouthpiece. This mouthpiece has two hinges, is more shaped towards the mouth, and sits a little looser in the horse's mouth. This bit exerts pressure on the tongue, the bars, and the corners of the mouth. Be careful with narrow lower jaws! The joints can press on the bars if the lower jaw is narrow. The double-jointed bit exerts more pressure on the tongue compared to single-jointed bits.
Sidepiece
Loose ring snaffle
A freely moving ring characterizes a loose ring snaffle. A movable ring means greater mobility of the bit in the mouth. The USG Loose Ring Snaffle Double-Jointed is therefore ideal for beginners and horses that are somewhat inactive in the mouth.
