Product description
Trust Bit Sweet Iron Bridoon Snaffle Waterford Multi-link Mouthpiece
The mouthpiece has a thickness of 16 millimeters at its thickest point. It is therefore a medium-thick mouthpiece.
Comparative values: normal warmbloods 16 - 18mm, ponies rather 10 - 14mm, thoroughbreds 12 - 16mm and particularly large warmbloods, cold-bloods and Shires Horses rather 18mm and larger.
Bridoon snaffles for Weymouth bits usually have a thickness of 12mm to 14mm.
When choosing the bit thickness and size, pay attention to the anatomical conditions of the horse's mouth. You can use your fingers to test how much space there is between the tongue and the palate.
The Trust Equestrian development team continuously works on innovative products to further optimize the design and function of the bits. Today we would like to introduce you to the Trust Bit Sweet Iron Snaffle Bridoon Waterford Multi-Link Mouthpiece from the Trust Equestrian range in more detail:
The bit Trust Bit Sweet Iron Snaffle Bridoon Waterford Multi-Link Mouthpiece is made of Sweet Iron and equipped with smaller side pieces as a bridoon for Weymouth bits. The mouthpiece of this bit is a Waterford or multi-link.

Bridoon
The bridoon is used in combination with a Weymouth bit. It is available with single and double jointed mouthpiece variations. The difference to other snaffles lies in the rings (e.g. eggbutt rings), these are significantly smaller than the rings of normal bits. The bridoon is usually chosen half to a full cm larger than the Weymouth bit, as the Weymouth bit is a straight bar and the bridoon is jointed. Multi-link/Waterford
A multi-link or Waterford mouthpiece consists of a series of rounded links. It is a flexible bit that conforms to the horse's mouth and creates even pressure. It can move in all directions, making it difficult for the horse to lean on the bit, so the rider retains proper control. In soft hands, this mouthpiece is soft and kind, but with a strong hand, the bit can be sharp.
Bit Material
Sweet Iron
Sweet Iron bits are made of steel. The bits have been developed so that surface rust forms on contact with air and moisture. This tastes sweet and stimulates saliva production. Horses therefore readily accept Sweet Iron bits.
