Product description
Trust Bit Sweet Iron Snaffle Bradoon Roller Bit
The bit is 16mm thick, measured at the thickest point in the horse's cheek area. This makes it a moderately thick mouthpiece.
For comparison, the standard thickness for a normal warmblood is between 16mm and 18mm. For ponies, this value is usually between 10mm and 14mm. Very large warmbloods, cold-blooded horses, and Shire Horses usually need a bit thicker than 18mm. A thickness of 12mm is usually suitable for a pony.
Bradoons for Weymouth bits usually have a thickness of 12mm to 14mm.
When choosing the bit thickness and size, pay attention to the anatomical conditions of the horse's mouth. You can use your fingers to check how much space there is between the tongue and palate.
The bit assortment from Trust Equestrian provides soft but effective impulses for better communication between rider and horse. Today we would like to introduce you to the Trust Bit Sweet Iron Snaffle Bradoon Roller Bit from the Trust Equestrian assortment in a bit more detail:
The bit Trust Bit Sweet Iron Snaffle Bradoon Roller Bit is made of Sweet Iron and equipped with smaller side parts as a bradoon for Weymouth bits. The mouthpiece of this bit is single-jointed.

single-jointed
A single-jointed bit has one hinge point, which exerts less pressure on the tongue than a double-jointed mouthpiece. A single-jointed mouthpiece primarily exerts pressure on the bars and the sides of the tongue and can also affect the palate. The single-jointed mouthpiece is the most popular mouthpiece on the market. Bradoon
The bradoon is used in combination with a Weymouth bit. It is available as single and double-jointed mouthpiece variations. The difference to other snaffles lies in the rings (e.g., eggbutt rings), which are significantly smaller than the rings of normal bits. The bradoon is usually chosen half to a full cm larger than the Weymouth bit, as the Weymouth bit is a straight bar and the bradoon is jointed.
Bit Material
Sweet Iron
Sweet Iron bits are made of steel. The bits were developed in such a way that surface rust forms when in contact with air and moisture. This tastes sweet and stimulates saliva production. Horses therefore readily accept Sweet Iron bits.
