Product description
Trust Bit Sweet Iron Loose Ring Bradoon, Medium Bar
The mouthpiece has a thickness of 16 millimeters at its thickest point. It is therefore a medium-strong mouthpiece.
Reference values: normal warmbloods 16 - 18mm, ponies rather 10 - 14mm, thoroughbreds 12 - 16mm, and particularly large warmbloods, cold-bloods, and Shire horses rather 18mm and larger.
Bradoons for Weymouth bits usually have a thickness of 12mm to 14mm.
When choosing the bit thickness and size, pay attention to the anatomical features of the horse's mouth. You can use your fingers to check how much space there is between the tongue and the palate.
The Trust Equestrian development team continuously works on innovative products to further optimize the design and function of bits. We would like to introduce you to the Trust Bit Sweet Iron Loose Ring Bradoon, Medium Bar from the Trust Equestrian range:
The bit Trust Bit Sweet Iron Loose Ring Bradoon, Medium Bar is made of Sweet Iron and equipped with smaller side pieces as a bradoon for Weymouth bits. The mouthpiece of this bit is a straight bar.

Bradoon
A bradoon is used in combination with a Weymouth bit. It is available in single-jointed and double-jointed mouthpiece variations. The difference to other snaffles lies in the rings (e.g., eggbutt rings), which are significantly smaller than the rings of normal bits. The bradoon is usually chosen half to a full cm larger than the Weymouth bit, as the Weymouth bit is a straight bar and the bradoon is jointed. Straight Bar Bits
A straight bar is usually straight or slightly curved to adapt to the anatomical conditions in the horse's mouth. A straight bar mouthpiece has a sharper action than a single-jointed or double-jointed mouthpiece.
Bit Material
Sweet Iron
Trust's Sweet Iron bits are made of steel. The bits have been designed so that surface rust develops when exposed to air and moisture. This tastes sweet and stimulates saliva production. Horses therefore readily accept Sweet Iron bits.
