Today, we would like to introduce you to the Trust Sweet Iron Loose Ring Snaffle Bit with Large Rings Brass Ring 16mm 13.5 from the Trust Equestrian range in more detail:
The Trust Sweet Iron Loose Ring Snaffle Bit with Large Rings Brass Ring 16mm 13.5 is made of Sweet Iron and equipped with loose ring snaffle cheekpieces, i.e., rings. The mouthpiece of this bit is double jointed. The bit has a mouthpiece size of 13.5 centimeters. This mouthpiece size is generally a good fit for a normal warmblood.
Bit Thickness
The mouthpiece has a thickness of 16 millimeters at its thickest point. This makes it a rather medium-thick mouthpiece.
Comparative values: normal warmbloods 16 - 18mm, ponies rather 10 - 14mm, thoroughbreds 12 - 16mm and particularly large warmbloods, draft horses and Shire horses rather 18mm and larger.
When choosing the bit thickness and size, pay attention to the anatomical features of the horse's mouth. You can use your fingers to test how much space there is between the tongue and palate.
Bit Material
Sweet Iron
Trust's Sweet Iron bits are made of steel. The bits have been developed so that surface rust forms when in contact with air and moisture. This tastes sweet and stimulates saliva production. Horses therefore readily accept Sweet Iron bits.
Manufacturer Information
Trust Equestrian
The Dutch bit manufacturer Trust Equestrian is characterized by innovation and craftsmanship. With the Inno Sense and Sweet Iron series, they are breaking new ground. The products are continuously developed by Trust's technical teams and strictly quality controlled.
Mouthpiece
Double Jointed
The double jointed mouthpiece is one of the most common mouthpieces on the market. This mouthpiece has two joints, is more shaped towards the mouth and lies a little looser in the horse's mouth. This bit applies pressure to the tongue, the bars and the corners of the mouth. Be careful with narrow lower jaws! The joints can press on the bars with a narrow lower jaw. The double jointed bit applies more pressure to the tongue compared to single jointed bits.
Cheekpiece
Loose Ring Snaffle
The loose ring snaffle has two freely moving rings at each end. A movable ring means greater mobility of the bit in the mouth. The Trust Sweet Iron Loose Ring Snaffle Bit with Large Rings Brass Ring 16mm 13.5 is therefore ideal for beginners and horses that are somewhat inactive in the mouth.
