Trust Equestrian bits are selected with the utmost care and made from the best materials. Today we would like to introduce you to the Trust Sweet Iron Loose Ring Snaffle with large rings, arched from the Trust Equestrian range in more detail:
The Trust Sweet Iron Loose Ring Snaffle with large rings, arched is made of Sweet Iron and features loose ring snaffle cheekpieces. The mouthpiece of this bit is single-jointed.
Bit thickness
The mouthpiece has a thickness of 16mm at its thickest point. It is therefore a medium-thick mouthpiece.
Comparison values: normal warmbloods 16 - 18mm, ponies rather 10 - 14mm, thoroughbreds 12 - 16mm and particularly large warmbloods, draft horses and Shire Horses rather 18mm and larger.
When selecting the bit thickness and size, pay attention to the anatomical conditions of the horse's mouth. You can use your fingers to check how much space there is between the tongue and the palate.
Bit material
Sweet Iron
Trust's Sweet Iron bits are made of steel. The bits have been developed so that surface rust forms when in contact with air and moisture. This tastes sweet and stimulates saliva production. Horses therefore readily accept Sweet Iron bits.
Manufacturer information
Trust Equestrian
The Dutch bit manufacturer Trust Equestrian is characterized by its innovative spirit and craftsmanship. With the Inno Sense and Sweet Iron series, they are breaking new ground. The products are continuously developed by Trust's technical teams and strictly quality controlled.
Mouthpiece
Single-jointed
A single-jointed bit has one hinge point, which exerts less pressure on the tongue than a double-jointed mouthpiece. A single-jointed mouthpiece primarily exerts pressure on the bars and sides of the tongue and can also affect the palate. A single-jointed mouthpiece is an absolute standard mouthpiece and very widely used.
Cheekpiece
Loose Ring Snaffle
The loose ring snaffle has two freely moving rings at each end. A movable ring means greater mobility of the bit in the mouth. The Trust Sweet Iron Loose Ring Snaffle with large rings, arched is therefore ideal for beginners and horses that are somewhat inactive in the mouth.
