The Trust Bit Sweet Iron Loose Ring Snaffle with large rings arched 16mm 14.5 is made of Sweet Iron and features loose ring snaffle cheekpieces, i.e. rings. The mouthpiece of this bit is single-jointed. The mouthpiece has a size of 14.5 centimeters. The 14.5cm mouthpiece size is usually ideal for very large warmbloods.
Bit thickness
The bit is 16mm thick, measured at the thickest point in the area of the horse's lips. It is therefore a medium-thick mouthpiece.
Comparative values: normal warmbloods 16 - 18mm, ponies rather 10 - 14mm, thoroughbreds 12 - 16mm and particularly large warmbloods, draft horses and Shire horses rather 18mm and larger.
When selecting the bit thickness and size, pay attention to the anatomical conditions of the horse's mouth. You can use your fingers to test how much space there is between the tongue and the palate.
Bit material
Sweet Iron
Sweet Iron bits are made of steel. The bits have been developed so that surface rust forms on contact with air and moisture. This tastes sweet and stimulates saliva production. Horses therefore readily accept Sweet Iron bits.
Manufacturer information
Trust Equestrian
The Dutch bit manufacturer Trust Equestrian is characterized by innovation and craftsmanship. With the Inno Sense and Sweet Iron series, they are breaking new ground. The products are continuously developed by Trust's technical teams and strictly quality controlled.
Mouthpiece
single jointed
A single-jointed bit has one hinge point, which exerts less pressure on the tongue than a double-jointed mouthpiece. A single-jointed mouthpiece primarily exerts pressure on the bars and sides of the tongue and can also affect the palate. The single-jointed mouthpiece is certainly the most common of all mouthpieces, alongside the double-jointed mouthpiece.
Cheekpiece
Loose ring snaffle
A loose running ring characterizes a loose ring snaffle. A movable ring means greater mobility of the bit in the mouth. The Trust Bit Sweet Iron Loose Ring Snaffle with large rings arched 16mm 14.5 is therefore a bit for horses that prefer a more "mobile" bit in their mouth.
