Today we would like to introduce you to the Trust Bit Sweet Iron Loose Ring Snaffle Double Jointed with Copper Rings 16mm 14.5 from the Trust Equestrian range in a little more detail:

The bit Trust Bit Sweet Iron Loose Ring Snaffle Double Jointed with Copper Rings 16mm 14.5 is made of Sweet Iron and equipped with loose ring cheekpieces. The mouthpiece of this bit is double jointed. The mouthpiece has a size of 14.5 centimeters. The 14.5cm mouthpiece size is usually ideal for very large warmbloods.

Bit thickness

The mouthpiece has a thickness of 16 millimeters at its thickest point. It is therefore a medium-thick mouthpiece.

For comparison, the standard thickness for a normal warmblood is between 16mm and 18mm. For ponies, this value is usually between 10mm and 14mm. Very large warmbloods, cold-blooded horses and Shire Horses usually need a bit thicker than 18mm. A thickness of 12mm is usually suitable for a pony.

When choosing the bit thickness and size, pay attention to the anatomical conditions of the horse's mouth. You can use your fingers to test how much space there is between the tongue and palate.

Bit material

Sweet Iron

Trust's Sweet Iron bits are made of steel. The bits were developed so that surface rust forms on contact with air and moisture. This tastes sweet and stimulates saliva production. Horses therefore readily accept Sweet Iron bits.

Manufacturer Information

Trust Equestrian

The Dutch bit manufacturer Trust Equestrian is characterized by innovation and craftsmanship. With the Inno Sense and Sweet Iron series, they are breaking new ground. The products are constantly being developed by Trust's technical teams and strictly quality controlled.

Mouthpiece

double jointed

Double jointed mouthpieces are suitable for many horses. This mouthpiece has two joints, is more shaped towards the mouth and sits a little looser in the horse's mouth. This bit exerts pressure on the tongue, the bars and the corners of the mouth. Be careful with narrow lower jaws! The hinge points can press on the bars, which can lead to sores. Compared to a single jointed bit, this bit exerts more pressure on the tongue.

Cheekpiece

loose ring snaffle

A freely moving ring characterizes a loose ring snaffle. A movable ring means greater mobility of the bit in the mouth. The Trust Bit Sweet Iron Loose Ring Snaffle Double Jointed with Copper Rings 16mm 14.5 is therefore a bit for horses that prefer a more "mobile" bit in their mouth.
