Product description
Trust Bit Sweet Iron Bradoon Loose Ring Snaffle Single Jointed
The bit is 16mm thick, measured at the thickest point in the horse's lips. This makes it a medium-thick mouthpiece.
Comparative values: normal warmbloods 16 - 18mm, ponies rather 10 - 14mm, thoroughbreds 12 - 16mm and particularly large warmbloods, cold-blooded horses and Shire Horses rather 18mm and larger.
Bradoons for double bridles usually have a thickness of 12mm to 14mm.
When choosing the bit thickness and size, pay attention to the anatomical conditions of the horse's mouth. You can use your fingers to test how much space there is between the tongue and palate.
The Trust Equestrian development team continuously works on innovative bits to further optimize the design and function of the bits. Today we would like to introduce you to the Trust Bit Sweet Iron Bradoon Loose Ring Snaffle Single Jointed from the Trust Equestrian range in more detail:
The bit Trust Bit Sweet Iron Bradoon Loose Ring Snaffle Single Jointed is made of Sweet Iron and equipped with smaller cheekpieces as a bradoon for double bridles. The mouthpiece of this bit is single jointed.

Mouthpiece
single jointed
The single jointed mouthpiece has a hinge in the middle, which puts less pressure on the tongue than a double jointed mouthpiece. A single jointed mouthpiece primarily exerts pressure on the bars and the sides of the tongue and can also affect the palate. A single jointed mouthpiece is an absolute standard mouthpiece and very common. Bradoon
The bradoon is used in combination with a curb bit. It is available in single and double jointed mouthpiece variations. The difference to other snaffles lies in the rings (e.g. eggbutt rings), which are significantly smaller than the rings of normal bits. The bradoon is usually chosen half to a whole cm larger than the curb bit, as the curb bit is a straight bar and the bradoon is jointed.
Bit Material
Sweet Iron
Sweet Iron bits are made of steel. The bits were developed in such a way that surface rust forms on contact with air and moisture. This tastes sweet and stimulates saliva production. Horses therefore readily accept Sweet Iron bits.
