Trust Equestrian bits are selected with the utmost care and made from the best materials. Today we would like to introduce you to the Trust Sweet Iron Swivel Snaffle, single-jointed from the Trust Equestrian range:
The Trust Sweet Iron Swivel Snaffle, single-jointed is made of Sweet Iron and equipped with so-called Universal rings. The mouthpiece of this bit is single-jointed.
Bit Thickness
The bit is 16mm thick, measured at the thickest point in the area of the horse's lips. It is therefore a medium-thick mouthpiece.
Comparison values: normal warmbloods 16 - 18mm, ponies rather 10 - 14mm, thoroughbreds 12 - 16mm, and particularly large warmbloods, cold-bloods and Shire horses rather 18mm and larger.
When selecting the bit thickness and size, pay attention to the anatomical features of the horse's mouth. You can test with your fingers how much space there is between the tongue and palate.
Bit Material
Sweet Iron
Trust's Sweet Iron bits are made of steel. The bits are designed to develop surface rust when they come into contact with air and moisture. This tastes sweet and stimulates saliva production. Horses therefore readily accept Sweet Iron bits.
Information about the Manufacturer
Trust Equestrian
The Dutch bit manufacturer Trust Equestrian is characterized by innovation and craftsmanship. With the Inno Sense and Sweet Iron series, they are breaking new ground. The products are continuously developed by Trust's technical teams and strictly controlled for quality.
Mouthpiece
single-jointed
The single-jointed mouthpiece has a hinge in the middle, which puts less pressure on the tongue than a double-jointed mouthpiece. A single-jointed mouthpiece primarily exerts pressure on the bars and sides of the tongue and can also affect the palate. The single-jointed mouthpiece is certainly the most common of all mouthpieces, alongside the double-jointed mouthpiece.
Cheekpiece
Universal/Swivel
The universal bit, also called Beval or Swivel, usually has rings as cheekpieces with internal eyelets at the top and bottom. These allow for additional buckling of cheekpieces and reins, which makes the bit very flexible. With the Beval, the mouthpiece is attached in a central axis of the ring.
