The Trust Sweet Iron Full Cheek Snaffle, single jointed bit is made of Sweet Iron and equipped with full cheeks as a side piece. The mouthpiece of this bit is single jointed.

Bit thickness

The mouthpiece has a thickness of 16 millimeters at its thickest point. It is therefore a moderately strong mouthpiece.

For comparison, the standard thickness for a normal warmblood is between 16mm and 18mm. For ponies, this value is usually between 10mm and 14mm. Very large warmbloods, cold bloods and Shire Horses usually require a bit thicker than 18mm. A thickness of 12mm is usually suitable for a pony.

When selecting the bit thickness and size, pay attention to the anatomical conditions of the horse's mouth. You can use your fingers to test how much space there is between the tongue and palate.
