Product description
Trust Sweet Iron Pony Baucher Bit, double jointed
The mouthpiece has a thickness of 16 millimeters at the thickest point. This makes it a moderately strong mouthpiece.
Comparative values: normal warmbloods 16 - 18mm, ponies rather 10 - 14mm, thoroughbreds 12 - 16mm and especially large warmbloods, cold-bloods and Shire horses rather 18mm and larger.
When choosing the bit thickness and size, pay attention to the anatomical conditions of the horse's mouth. You can use your fingers to test how much space there is between the tongue and the palate.
The bit range from Trust Equestrian provides soft but effective impulses for better communication between rider and horse. Today we would like to introduce you to the Trust Sweet Iron Pony Baucher Bit, double jointed, from the Trust Equestrian range in more detail:
The Trust Sweet Iron Pony Baucher Bit, double jointed is made of Sweet Iron and equipped with so-called Baucher or Fillis cheekpieces. The mouthpiece of this bit is double jointed.
Bit thickness
Cheekpiece
Baucher/Fillis
The Trust Sweet Iron Pony Baucher Bit, double jointed is a Baucher bit, also called a B-snaffle, Fillis or Fillet bit. This bit is suitable for horses that react sensitively to poll pressure. It lies very quietly in the mouth and particularly encourages horses that carry their heads very high to lower them and become lighter in the poll. The B-snaffle is very similar to a Pelham in the upper part of the bit, because, like a Pelham, the cheek piece is attached to the upper, small ring. However, the rein does not act on the bit via a lever and therefore exerts hardly any pressure on the poll.
Mouthpiece
double jointed
Double jointed mouthpieces are suitable for many horses. This mouthpiece has two joints, is more shaped towards the mouth and lies a little looser in the horse's mouth. This bit exerts pressure on the tongue, the bars and the corners of the mouth. Be careful with narrow lower jaws! The joints can press on the bars with a narrow lower jaw. Compared to a single jointed bit, this bit exerts more pressure on the tongue.
Bit material
Sweet Iron
Trust's Sweet Iron bits are made of steel. The bits have been developed so that surface rust forms when in contact with air and moisture. This tastes sweet and stimulates saliva production. Horses therefore readily accept Sweet Iron bits.
