For comparison, the standard thickness for a normal warmblood is between 16mm and 18mm. For ponies, this value is more like 10mm to 14mm. Very large warmbloods, cold-blooded horses and Shire Horses usually need a bit thicker than 18mm. A thickness of 12mm is usually suitable for a pony.

Possible use for horses that have difficulty going through the poll, for "hot" horses or for horses that need clear intervention in critical situations. The Pelham should only be used by experienced riders.
