The bit is 16mm thick, measured at the thickest point in the horse's commissures. This makes it a rather medium-strength mouthpiece.
Reference values: normal warmbloods 16 - 18mm, ponies rather 10 - 14mm, thoroughbreds 12 - 16mm and particularly large warmbloods, cold-blooded horses and Shires horses rather 18mm and larger.
