Product description

Trust Bit Sweet Iron Eggbutt Weymouth Bradoon High Port 16mm 11.5

The mouthpiece has a thickness of 20 millimeters at its thickest point. This makes it a rather thick mouthpiece.

Comparison values: normal warmbloods 16 - 18mm, ponies rather 10 - 14mm, thoroughbreds 12 - 16mm and especially large warmbloods, draft horses and Shire horses rather 18mm and larger.

Weymouth bradoons usually have a thickness of 12mm to 14mm.

When choosing the bit thickness and size, pay attention to the anatomical conditions of the horse's mouth. You can test with your fingers how much space there is between the tongue and the palate.

Trust Equestrian bits are selected with the utmost care and made from the most suitable materials. We would like to introduce you to the Trust Bit Sweet Iron Eggbutt Weymouth Bradoon High Port 16mm 11.5 from the Trust Equestrian range in more detail today:

The bit Trust Bit Sweet Iron Eggbutt Weymouth Bradoon High Port 16mm 11.5 is made of Sweet Iron and equipped with smaller side pieces as a bradoon for Weymouth bits. The mouthpiece of this bit is a straight bar. The bit has a mouthpiece size of 11.5 centimeters.

Bit thickness

The 11.5cm mouthpiece size is usually ideal for thoroughbreds.

Sidepiece

Mouthpiece

Bradoon

The bradoon is used in combination with a curb bit. It is available in single and double jointed mouthpiece variations. The difference to other snaffles lies in the rings (e.g. eggbutt rings), which are significantly smaller than the rings of normal bits. The bradoon is usually chosen half to one cm larger than the curb bit, as the curb bit is a straight bar and the bradoon is jointed. Straight bar bits

A straight bar is usually straight or slightly curved to adapt to the anatomical conditions in the horse's mouth. A straight bar mouthpiece has a sharper action than a single or double jointed mouthpiece.

Bit material

Sweet Iron

Trust's Sweet Iron bits are made of steel. The bits are designed to develop surface rust when in contact with air and moisture. This tastes sweet and stimulates saliva production. Horses therefore readily accept Sweet Iron bits.
