The bit range from Trust Equestrian provides soft but effective impulses for better communication between rider and horse. Today we would like to introduce you to the Trust Bit Sweet Iron Kimblehook Waterford Segmented Mouthpiece from the Trust Equestrian range in more detail:
The Trust Bit Sweet Iron Kimblehook Waterford Segmented Mouthpiece is made of Sweet Iron and equipped with Kimblehook cheeks. The mouthpiece of this bit is a Waterford or multi-jointed mouthpiece.
Bit thickness
The mouthpiece has a thickness of 16mm at its widest point. This makes it a moderately thick mouthpiece.
Comparative values: normal warmbloods 16 - 18mm, ponies rather 10 - 14mm, thoroughbreds 12 - 16mm and particularly large warmbloods, cold-blooded horses and Shire horses rather 18mm and larger.
When choosing the bit thickness and size, pay attention to the anatomical conditions of the horse's mouth. You can use your fingers to test how much space there is between the tongue and palate.
Bit material
Sweet Iron
Trust's Sweet Iron bits are made of steel. The bits were developed so that surface rust forms on contact with air and moisture. This tastes sweet and stimulates saliva production. Horses therefore readily accept Sweet Iron bits.
Manufacturer information

Mouthpiece
Multi-jointed/Waterford
A multi-jointed or Waterford mouthpiece consists of a series of rounded links. It is a flexible bit that conforms to the horse's mouth and creates even pressure. It can move in all directions, making it difficult for the horse to lean on the bit, so the rider maintains proper control. In soft hands, this mouthpiece is soft and kind, but with a strong hand, the bit can be sharp.
Cheeks
Kimblehook
The Kimblehook combines a leverage action on the lower jaw branches, pressure on the poll, and a change in the bit's position in the horse's mouth. The Kimblehook allows three different attachment options, enabling a well-dosed use of the bit. The stable side parts ensure a calm position in the mouth.
