The Trust Sweet Iron Kimblehook French Link Copper Plate bit is made of Sweet Iron and equipped with Kimblehook cheekpieces. The mouthpiece of this bit is a French Link, which means an eight-shaped plate as the center piece of a double-jointed mouthpiece.

Bit thickness

The bit is 16mm thick, measured at the thickest point in the area of the horse's lips. This makes it a rather medium-strength mouthpiece.

For comparison, the standard thickness for a normal warmblood is between 16mm and 18mm. For ponies, this value is usually between 10mm and 14mm. Very large warmbloods, cold-blooded horses, and Shire Horses usually require a bit thicker than 18mm. A thickness of 12mm is usually suitable for a pony.
