Product description
Trust Bit Sweet Iron-hanging cheek single jointed 12mm 14.5
The bit is 12mm thick, measured at the thickest point in the horse's cheek area. This makes it a rather thin mouthpiece.
Comparative values: normal warmbloods 16 - 18mm, ponies rather 10 - 14mm, thoroughbreds 12 - 16mm and particularly large warmbloods, cold bloods and Shires horses rather 18mm and larger.
When selecting the bit thickness and size, pay attention to the anatomical conditions of the horse's mouth. You can test with your fingers how much space there is between the tongue and the palate.
The bit assortment from Trust Equestrian provides soft but effective impulses for better communication between rider and horse. Today we would like to introduce you to the Trust Bit Sweet Iron-hanging cheek single jointed 12mm 14.5 from the Trust Equestrian assortment in more detail:
The bit Trust Bit Sweet Iron-hanging cheek single jointed 12mm 14.5 is made of Sweet Iron and equipped with so-called Baucher or Fillis cheek pieces. The mouthpiece of this bit is single jointed. The mouthpiece has a width of 14.5 centimeters.
Bit thickness
This mouthpiece size is generally well suited for very large warmbloods.
Cheek piece
Baucher/Fillis
The Trust Bit Sweet Iron-hanging cheek single jointed 12mm 14.5 is a Baucher bit, also called B-bit, Fillis or Fillet bit. This bit is suitable for horses that are sensitive to poll pressure. It lies very quietly in the mouth and particularly encourages horses that carry their head very high to lower it and become lighter in the poll. The B-bit strongly resembles a Pelham in the upper part of the bit, because as with the Pelham, the cheek piece is buckled in the upper, small ring. However, the rein does not act on the bit via a lever and therefore exerts hardly any pressure on the poll.
Mouthpiece
single jointed
A single jointed bit has one hinge point, which exerts less pressure on the tongue than a double jointed mouthpiece. A single jointed mouthpiece primarily exerts pressure on the bars and the sides of the tongue and can also affect the palate. The single jointed mouthpiece is the most popular mouthpiece on the market.
Bit material
Sweet Iron
Trust's Sweet Iron bits are made of steel. The bits have been developed so that surface rust forms when in contact with air and moisture. This tastes sweet and stimulates saliva production. Horses therefore readily accept Sweet Iron bits.
