It lies very quietly in the mouth and encourages horses, especially those that carry their heads very high, to lower them and become lighter in the poll. The B-snaffle strongly resembles a Pelham in the upper part of the bit, because, as with the Pelham, the cheek piece is buckled in the upper, small ring.
