This bit is suitable for horses that react sensitively to poll pressure. It lies very quietly in the mouth and particularly encourages horses that carry their heads very high to lower them and become lighter in the poll. The B-snaffle strongly resembles a Pelham in the upper part of the bit, because as with the Pelham, the cheekpiece is buckled in the upper, small ring. However, unlike a Pelham, the rein does not act on the bit via a lever and therefore exerts little pressure on the poll.
