Trust Equestrian bits are selected with the utmost care and made from the best materials. Today, we would like to introduce you to the Trust Bit Sweet Iron D-Ring Roller Bit from the Trust Equestrian range:
The Trust Bit Sweet Iron D-Ring Roller Bit is made of Sweet Iron and equipped with D-shaped rings as cheekpieces. The mouthpiece of this bit is single jointed.
Bit thickness
The bit is 16mm thick, measured at the thickest point in the area of the horse's lips. This makes it a medium-thick mouthpiece.
Comparative values: normal warmbloods 16 - 18mm, ponies rather 10 - 14mm, thoroughbreds 12 - 16mm and particularly large warmbloods, draft horses and Shire horses rather 18mm and larger.
When selecting the bit thickness and size, pay attention to the anatomical conditions of the horse's mouth. You can use your fingers to test how much space there is between the tongue and palate.
Bit material
Sweet Iron
Sweet Iron bits are made of steel. The bits have been developed so that surface rust forms on contact with air and moisture. This tastes sweet and stimulates saliva production. Horses therefore readily accept Sweet Iron bits.
Information about the manufacturer
Trust Equestrian
The Dutch bit manufacturer Trust Equestrian is characterized by innovation and craftsmanship. With the Inno Sense and Sweet Iron series, they are breaking new ground. The products are constantly being developed by Trust's technical teams and strictly quality controlled.
Mouthpiece
single jointed
The single-jointed mouthpiece has a hinge in the middle, which exerts less pressure on the tongue than a double-jointed mouthpiece. A single-jointed mouthpiece primarily exerts pressure on the bars and sides of the tongue and can also affect the palate. A single-jointed mouthpiece is an absolute standard mouthpiece and very common.
Cheekpiece
D-Ring
Due to the properties of this bit, it is wonderfully suitable for young horses that are still a little inexperienced. The shape and weight of the cheekpieces ensure a quiet and comfortable position in the mouth. Due to the shape of the D-shaped rings, optimal lateral stability is provided. Good and calm rein guidance is facilitated by the large ring. The larger rings provide a little more leverage on the poll.
