The Trust Equestrian team continuously works on innovative bits to further optimize the design and effectiveness of bits. Today we would like to introduce you to the Trust Bit Sweet Iron D-Ring Medium Bar from the Trust Equestrian range:
The Trust Bit Sweet Iron D-Ring Medium Bar is made of Sweet Iron and equipped with D-shaped rings as cheekpieces. The mouthpiece of this bit is a bar.
Bit thickness
The mouthpiece has a thickness of 16 millimeters at its thickest point. It is therefore a medium-thick mouthpiece.
Comparative values: normal warmbloods 16 - 18mm, ponies rather 10 - 14mm, thoroughbreds 12 - 16mm and particularly large warmbloods, cold-blooded horses and Shire horses rather 18mm and larger.
When choosing the bit thickness and size, pay attention to the anatomical conditions of the horse's mouth. You can use your fingers to test how much space there is between the tongue and palate.
Bit material
Sweet Iron
Trust's Sweet Iron bits are made of steel. The bits have been developed so that surface rust forms when in contact with air and moisture. This tastes sweet and stimulates saliva production. Horses therefore readily accept Sweet Iron bits.
Manufacturer information
Trust Equestrian
The Dutch bit manufacturer Trust Equestrian is characterized by its innovative spirit and craftsmanship. With the Inno Sense and Sweet Iron series, they are breaking new ground. The products are continuously developed by Trust's technical teams and strictly quality controlled.
Mouthpiece
Bar bits
A bar is usually straight or slightly curved to adapt to the anatomical conditions in the horse's mouth. A bar mouthpiece has a sharper effect than a single-jointed or double-jointed mouthpiece.
Cheekpiece
D-Ring
Due to the properties of this bit, it is wonderfully suitable for young horses that are still somewhat inexperienced. The shape and weight of the cheekpieces ensure a calm and comfortable position in the mouth. Due to the shape of the D-shaped rings, optimal lateral support is provided. Good and calm rein guidance is facilitated by the large ring. The larger rings provide a little more leverage on the poll.
