Product description
Trust Bit Sweet Iron Curbgag Waterford Multi-Link Mouthpiece 16mm 13.5
The bit is 20mm thick, measured at the thickest part in the horse's cheek area. This makes it a rather thick mouthpiece.
For comparison, the standard thickness for a normal warmblood is between 16mm and 18mm. For ponies, this value is usually between 10mm and 14mm. Very large warmbloods, cold-blooded horses, and Shire Horses usually require a bit thicker than 18mm. A thickness of 12mm is usually suitable for a pony.
When choosing the bit thickness and size, pay attention to the anatomical conditions of the horse's mouth. You can use your fingers to check how much space there is between the tongue and the palate.
The Trust Equestrian team continuously works on innovative bits to further optimize the design and function of the bits. Today, we would like to introduce you to the Trust Bit Sweet Iron Curbgag Waterford Multi-Link Mouthpiece 16mm 13.5 from the Trust Equestrian range:
The bit Trust Bit Sweet Iron Curbgag Waterford Multi-Link Mouthpiece 16mm 13.5 is made of Sweet Iron and equipped with so-called Curbgag rings. The mouthpiece of this bit is a Waterford or multi-link. The mouthpiece has a mouthpiece size of 13.5 centimeters.
Bit Thickness
The mouthpiece size 13.5cm is usually ideal for smaller and normal warmbloods.
Cheekpiece
Curbgag
The combination bit, also called a curb-gag, ensures optimal pressure distribution on the lower jaw and mouth and is very well accepted by the horse. The second rein acts like a chin strap, which can be taken up and released as needed. This bit is very suitable for particularly strong and forward-going horses.
Mouthpiece
Multi-Link/Waterford
A multi-link or Waterford mouthpiece consists of a series of rounded links. It is a flexible bit that conforms to the horse's mouth and creates even pressure. It can move in all directions, making it difficult for the horse to lean on the bit, allowing the rider to maintain proper control. In soft hands, this mouthpiece is soft and gentle, but with a strong hand, the bit can be sharp.
Bit Material
Sweet Iron
Sweet Iron bits are made of steel. The bits have been developed so that surface rust forms on contact with air and moisture. This tastes sweet and stimulates saliva production. Horses therefore readily accept Sweet Iron bits.
