The Trust Equestrian Team continuously works on innovative bits to further optimize the design and function of bits. Today we would like to introduce you to the Trust Sweet Iron Curbgag Roller Bit from the Trust Equestrian range:
The Trust Sweet Iron Curbgag Roller Bit is made of Sweet Iron and equipped with so-called Curbgag rings. The mouthpiece of this bit is single-jointed.
Bit Thickness
The mouthpiece has a thickness of 16mm at its thickest point. This makes it a rather medium-thick mouthpiece.
Comparative values: normal warmbloods 16 - 18mm, ponies rather 10 - 14mm, thoroughbreds 12 - 16mm and particularly large warmbloods, cold bloods and Shire Horses rather 18mm and larger.
When choosing the bit thickness and size, pay attention to the anatomical conditions of the horse's mouth. You can test with your fingers how much space there is between the tongue and the palate.
Bit Material
Sweet Iron
Trust's Sweet Iron bits are made of steel. The bits have been developed so that surface rust forms when they come into contact with air and moisture. This tastes sweet and stimulates saliva production. Horses therefore readily accept Sweet Iron bits.
Manufacturer Information
Trust Equestrian
The Dutch bit manufacturer Trust Equestrian is characterized by innovation and craftsmanship. With the Inno Sense and Sweet Iron series, they are breaking new ground. The products are continuously developed by Trust's technical teams and strictly quality-controlled.
Mouthpiece
Single jointed
The single-jointed mouthpiece has a hinge in the middle, which puts less pressure on the tongue than a double-jointed mouthpiece. A single-jointed mouthpiece mainly exerts pressure on the bars and sides of the tongue and can also affect the palate. A single-jointed mouthpiece is an absolute standard mouthpiece and very widely used.
Cheekpiece
Curbgag
The combination bit, also known as a Curbgag, ensures optimal pressure distribution on the lower jaw and mouth and is very well accepted by the horse. The second rein acts like a curb chain that can be taken up and released as needed. It is very suitable for horses that tend to rush forward.
