The bit Trust Bit Sweet Iron Curbgag Roller Bit 16mm 14.5 is made of Sweet Iron and equipped with so-called Curbgag rings. The mouthpiece of this bit is single jointed. The mouthpiece has a width of 14.5 centimeters. The mouthpiece size 14.5cm is usually ideal for very large warmbloods.
Bit Thickness
The bit is 20mm thick, measured at the thickest point in the area of the horse's lips. It is therefore a rather thick mouthpiece.
Comparison values: normal warmbloods 16 - 18mm, ponies rather 10 - 14mm, thoroughbreds 12 - 16mm and especially large warmbloods, draft horses and Shire Horses rather 18mm and larger.
When choosing the bit thickness and size, pay attention to the anatomical conditions of the horse's mouth. You can use your fingers to test how much space there is between the tongue and palate.
Bit Material
Sweet Iron
Trust's Sweet Iron bits are made of steel. The bits have been developed to create surface rust when in contact with air and moisture. This tastes sweet and stimulates saliva production. Horses therefore readily accept Sweet Iron bits.
Manufacturer Information
Trust Equestrian
The Dutch bit manufacturer Trust Equestrian is characterized by its innovative spirit and craftsmanship. With the Inno Sense and Sweet Iron series, they are breaking new ground. The products are continuously developed and strictly quality controlled by Trust's technical teams.
Mouthpiece
single jointed
The single-jointed mouthpiece has a hinge in the middle, which puts less pressure on the tongue than a double-jointed mouthpiece. A single-jointed mouthpiece mainly exerts pressure on the bars and the sides of the tongue and can also affect the palate. The single-jointed mouthpiece is certainly the most common of all mouthpieces, alongside the double-jointed mouthpiece.
Cheek Piece
Curbgag
The combination bit, or Curbgag, ensures optimal pressure distribution on the lower jaw and mouth and is very well accepted by the horse. The second rein acts like a chin strap that can be used and released as needed. This bit is very suitable for particularly strong and forward-moving horses.
