The Trust Bit sweet Iron Curbgag single jointed is made of Sweet Iron and equipped with so-called Curbgag rings. The mouthpiece of this bit is single jointed.
Bit Thickness
The mouthpiece has a thickness of 16mm at its thickest point. This makes it a medium-strong mouthpiece.
Comparative values: normal warmbloods 16 - 18mm, ponies rather 10 - 14mm, thoroughbreds 12 - 16mm and particularly large warmbloods, draft horses and Shire Horses rather 18mm and larger.
When choosing the bit thickness and size, pay attention to the anatomical conditions of the horse's mouth. You can use your fingers to test how much space there is between the tongue and the palate.
Bit Material
Sweet Iron
Trust's Sweet Iron bits are made of steel. The bits are designed so that surface rust develops upon contact with air and moisture. This tastes sweet and stimulates saliva production. Horses therefore readily accept Sweet Iron bits.
Manufacturer Information
Trust Equestrian
The Dutch bit manufacturer Trust Equestrian is characterized by innovation and craftsmanship. With the Inno Sense and Sweet Iron series, they are breaking new ground. The products are continuously developed by Trust's technical teams and strictly quality-controlled.
Mouthpiece
single jointed
The Trust Bit sweet Iron Curbgag single jointed has a single joint in the middle, which applies less pressure to the tongue than a double-jointed mouthpiece. A single-jointed mouthpiece primarily exerts pressure on the bars and sides of the tongue and can also affect the palate. The single-jointed mouthpiece is the most popular mouthpiece on the market.
Cheek piece
Curbgag
The combination bit, or Curbgag, ensures optimal pressure distribution on the lower jaw and mouth and is very well accepted by the horse. The second rein acts like a curb strap, which can be engaged and released as needed. This bit is very suitable for particularly strong and forward-going horses.
