Product description

Trust Bit Sweet Iron Double Broken Curbgag with Copper Rings

The mouthpiece has a thickness of 16mm at its thickest point. It is therefore a moderately strong mouthpiece.

Comparative values: normal warmbloods 16 - 18mm, ponies rather 10 - 14mm, thoroughbreds 12 - 16mm and particularly large warmbloods, cold-blooded horses and Shire horses rather 18mm and larger.

When choosing the bit strength and size, pay attention to the anatomical features of the horse's mouth. You can test with your fingers how much space there is between the tongue and the palate.

The Trust Equestrian team continuously works on innovative products to further optimize the design and function of the bits. Today we would like to introduce you to the Trust Sweet Iron Double Broken Curbgag Bit with Copper Rings from the Trust Equestrian range:

The bit Trust Sweet Iron Double Broken Curbgag Bit with Copper Rings is made of Sweet Iron and equipped with so-called Curbgag rings. The mouthpiece of this bit is double broken.

Bit Thickness

Cheekpiece

Curbgag

The combination bit, or Curbgag, ensures optimal pressure distribution on the lower jaw and mouth and is very well accepted by the horse. The second rein acts like a chin strap, which can be taken up and released as needed. It is very suitable for horses that push forward.

Mouthpiece

Double Broken

The double broken mouthpiece is one of the most common mouthpieces on the market. This mouthpiece has two joints, is more shaped towards the mouth and sits a little looser in the horse's mouth. This bit exerts pressure on the tongue, the bars and the corners of the mouth. Be careful with narrow lower jaws! The joints can press on the bars in a narrow lower jaw. Compared to a single broken bit, this bit exerts more pressure on the tongue.

Bit Material

Sweet Iron

Trust's Sweet Iron bits are made of steel. The bits have been developed to create surface rust on contact with air and moisture. This tastes sweet and stimulates saliva production. Horses therefore accept Sweet Iron bits well.
