Product description
Trust Bit Sweet Iron Elevator Bit Dr. Bristol Copper Plate 16mm 14.5
The mouthpiece has a thickness of 16mm at its thickest point, making it a medium-strong mouthpiece.
For comparison, the standard thickness for a normal warmblood is between 16mm and 18mm. For ponies, this value is more like 10mm to 14mm. Very large warmbloods, cold-blooded horses, and Shire Horses usually require a bit thicker than 18mm. A thickness of 12mm is usually suitable for a pony.
When selecting the bit thickness and size, pay attention to the anatomical conditions of the horse's mouth. You can test with your fingers how much space there is between the tongue and the palate.
The Trust Equestrian Team continuously works on innovative products to further optimize the design and function of the bits. Today, we would like to introduce you to the Trust Bit Sweet Iron Elevator Bit Dr. Bristol Copper Plate 16mm 14.5 from the Trust Equestrian range:
The bit Trust Bit Sweet Iron Elevator Bit Dr. Bristol Copper Plate 16mm 14.5 is made of Sweet Iron and equipped with Elevator Bit Rings. The mouthpiece of this bit is a Dr. Bristol, meaning a plate as the center piece of a double-jointed mouthpiece. The mouthpiece has a mouthpiece size of 14.5 centimeters.
Bit Thickness
The mouthpiece size 14.5cm is usually ideal for very large warmbloods.
Side Piece
Elevator Bit
The elevator bit can be ridden with two reins. The second rein, with increased pressure, causes a tipping and an upward pulling of the bit in the corner of the mouth. This means increased action. Very good for horses that tend to lean on the bit. The bit also supports the horse's natural self-carriage.
Mouthpiece
Dr. Bristol
The Dr. Bristol mouthpiece is a double-jointed mouthpiece with a plate as the center piece. The center plate in a Dr. Bristol is angled and flat-edged. It acts mainly on the tongue with a sharp action due to the straight, angled plate and with a smaller angle on the bars. This bit can be useful for strong horses or those that go against the hand.
Bit Material
Sweet Iron
Trust's Sweet Iron bits are made of steel. The bits have been developed so that surface rust forms on contact with air and moisture. This tastes sweet and stimulates saliva production. Horses therefore accept Sweet Iron bits well.
