The Trust Sweet Iron Gag Bit Dr. Bristol Copper Plate 16mm 11.5 is made of Sweet Iron and equipped with gag bit rings. The mouthpiece of this bit is a Dr. Bristol, meaning a plate as the center piece of a double-jointed mouthpiece. The mouthpiece has a width of 11.5 centimeters. The 11.5cm mouthpiece size is usually ideal for Thoroughbreds.

The Dr. Bristol mouthpiece is a double-jointed mouthpiece with a flat center piece. The center plate in a Dr. Bristol is angled and flat-edged. It primarily acts on the tongue with a sharp effect due to the straight, angled plate and with a smaller angle on the bars. This mouthpiece helps with strong horses.

The gag bit can be ridden with two reins. Increased pressure on the second rein causes the bit to tilt and pull up in the corner of the mouth. This means a reinforced effect. Very good for horses that tend to lean on the bit. The bit also supports the horse's natural elevation.
