It acts mainly on the tongue with a sharp action due to the straight, angled plate and with a lesser angle on the bars. This bit can be useful for strong horses or those that lean on the hand.

Full Cheek Snaffle

The full cheek snaffle combines the action of a gag bit and a full cheek bit. The full cheek bit restricts the horse laterally and provides stability, and also prevents the bit rings from sliding through. The gag bit is connected to the bridle via gag cheeks that are pulled through the bit rings. This achieves a leveraged action depending on the degree of rein engagement.
