Trust Equestrian bits are selected with the greatest care and made from the most suitable materials. Today we would like to introduce you to the Trust Bit Sweet Iron 2.5-Ring Snaffle French Bar 16mm 13.5 from the Trust Equestrian range:
The Trust Bit Sweet Iron 2.5-Ring Snaffle French Bar 16mm 13.5 is made of Sweet Iron and equipped with 3-ring cheekpieces. The mouthpiece of this bit is a bar. The mouthpiece has a size of 13.5 centimeters. A mouthpiece size of 13.5cm is usually ideal for smaller and normal warmbloods.
Bit thickness
The mouthpiece has a thickness of 20 millimeters at its thickest point. It is therefore a rather thick mouthpiece.
Comparative values: normal warmbloods 16 - 18mm, ponies rather 10 - 14mm, thoroughbreds 12 - 16mm and particularly large warmbloods, draft horses and Shire horses rather 18mm and larger.
When selecting the bit thickness and size, pay attention to the anatomical conditions of the horse's mouth. You can test with your fingers how much space there is between the tongue and the palate.
Bit material
Sweet Iron
Trust's Sweet Iron bits are made of steel. The bits were developed in such a way that surface rust forms when in contact with air and moisture. This tastes sweet and stimulates saliva production. Horses therefore readily accept Sweet Iron bits.
Manufacturer information
Trust Equestrian
The Dutch bit manufacturer Trust Equestrian is characterized by innovation and craftsmanship. With the Inno Sense and Sweet Iron series, they are breaking new ground. The products are continuously developed by Trust's technical teams and strictly controlled for quality.
Mouthpiece
Bar bits
A bar is usually straight or slightly curved to adapt to the anatomical conditions in the horse's mouth. A bar mouthpiece has a sharper effect than a single-jointed or double-jointed mouthpiece.
Cheekpiece
3-Ring
The three-ring bit combines an effective lateral limitation, leverage, and upward-pulling action in one bit. The degree of action is chosen by the different rein attachment options. When attached to the lower ring, the pulling rein exerts the effect of a short lever on the bit. The 3-ring bit is often used to test the horse's reaction to leverage.
