The Trust Sweet Iron 2.5-Ring Olive Head Snaffle Waterford Link Mouthpiece 16mm 12.5 bit is made of Sweet Iron and equipped with 2.5-ring cheek pieces. The mouthpiece of this bit is a Waterford or multi-jointed. The bit has a mouthpiece size of 12.5 centimeters. This mouthpiece size is generally well-suited for athletic thoroughbreds.
Bit thickness
The bit is 20mm thick, measured at the thickest point in the area of the horse's lips. This makes it a rather thick mouthpiece.
In comparison, the standard thickness for a normal warmblood is between 16mm and 18mm. For ponies, this value is usually between 10mm and 14mm. Very large warmbloods, draft horses and Shire Horses usually require a bit thicker than 18mm. A thickness of 12mm is usually suitable for a pony.
