Trust Equestrian bits are selected with the utmost care and made from the most suitable materials. We would like to introduce you to the Trust Bit Leather Bar Full Cheek Straight Leather Bar 20mm 14.5 from the Trust Equestrian range in more detail today:
The Trust Bit Leather Bar Full Cheek Straight Leather Bar 20mm 14.5 is made of leather and equipped with full cheeks as a side piece. The mouthpiece of this bit is a bar. The mouthpiece has a mouthpiece size of 14.5 centimeters. This mouthpiece size is generally well suited for very large warmbloods.
Bit thickness
The mouthpiece has a thickness of 20mm at its thickest point. It is therefore a rather thick mouthpiece.
For comparison, the standard thickness for a normal warmblood is between 16mm and 18mm. For ponies, this value is more like 10mm to 14mm. Very large warmbloods, draft horses and Shire Horses usually need a bit thicker than 18mm. A thickness of 12mm is usually suitable for a pony.
When choosing the bit thickness and size, pay attention to the anatomical conditions of the horse's mouth. You can test with your fingers how much space there is between the tongue and the palate.
Bit material
Leather
The acceptance of leather bits is extraordinarily high. Practically every horse "likes" it! Since leather is a natural product, it stimulates salivation and chewing activity. The bit slides easily in the mouth and thus increases well-being. Leather mouthpieces are usually vegetable-tanned and hand-stitched.
Our leather mouthpiece is particularly suitable for young and very sensitive horses. Even horses that are completely resistant to bits usually accept a leather bit willingly and can relearn a confident approach to the bit.
Care instructions for leather: The mouthpiece should soak in cooking oil for a few hours before first use. Repeat this process as soon as the leather appears dry. Before each use, you should briefly soak it in clear water and clean it thoroughly after use, as saliva can erode the leather.
Manufacturer information
Trust Equestrian
The Dutch bit manufacturer Trust Equestrian is characterized by innovation and craftsmanship. With the Inno Sense and Sweet Iron series, they are breaking new ground. The products are continuously developed by Trust's technical teams and strictly quality-controlled.
Mouthpiece
Bar Bits
A bar is usually straight or slightly curved to adapt to the anatomical conditions in the horse's mouth. A bar mouthpiece has a sharper effect than a single-jointed or double-jointed mouthpiece.
Side piece
Full Cheek Bits
The full cheek bit lies very quietly and stably in the mouth. It provides reliable lateral guidance without the risk of pinching skin and lips due to the angled shanks. This bit is suitable for horses that need clear lateral support and guidance when turning.
