Product description
Trust Bit Leather Straight Beval
The bit is 20mm thick, measured at the thickest point in the area of the horse's commissure. So it's more of a thick mouthpiece.
Comparative values: normal warmbloods 16 - 18mm, ponies rather 10 - 14mm, thoroughbreds 12 - 16mm and particularly large warmbloods, cold bloods and Shire Horses rather 18mm and larger.
When choosing the bit thickness and size, pay attention to the anatomical conditions of the horse's mouth. You can use your fingers to test how much space there is between the tongue and palate.
The bit range from Trust Equestrian sets soft but effective impulses for better communication between rider and horse. We would like to introduce you to the Trust Bit Leather Straight Beval from the Trust Equestrian range in more detail today:
The Trust Bit Leather Straight Beval is made of leather and equipped with so-called Universal rings. The mouthpiece of this bit is a straight bar.

Cheekpiece
Universal/Swivel
The universal bit, also called beval or swivel, usually has rings as cheekpieces, with internal eyelets at the top and bottom. These allow for additional attachment of cheekpieces and reins, making the bit very flexible. With the beval, the mouthpiece is attached in a central axis of the ring.
Mouthpiece
Straight bar bits
A straight bar is usually straight or slightly curved to adapt to the anatomical conditions in the horse's mouth. A straight bar mouthpiece has a sharper effect than a single-jointed or double-jointed mouthpiece.
Bit material
Leather
Leather as a bit material is very readily accepted by many horses. Virtually every horse "likes" it! Since leather is a natural product, it stimulates salivation and chewing activity. The bit glides easily in the mouth and thus increases well-being. Leather mouthpieces are usually vegetable-tanned and hand-stitched.
Our leather mouthpiece is particularly suitable for young and extremely sensitive horses. Even horses that are completely resistant to bits usually readily accept a leather bit and can learn to trust the bit again.
Care instructions for leather: The mouthpiece should soak in cooking oil for a few hours before the first use. Repeat this process as soon as the leather appears dry. Before each use, you should soak it briefly in clear water and clean it thoroughly after use, as saliva can erode the leather.
