Trust Equestrian bits are selected with the utmost care and manufactured from the most suitable materials. Today, we would like to introduce you to the Trust Bit Inno Sense Loose Ring Snaffle Bradoon Tongue Port Bit Medium 20mm 13.5 from the Trust Equestrian range in more detail:
The Trust Bit Inno Sense Loose Ring Snaffle Bradoon Tongue Port Bit Medium 20mm 13.5 is made of plastic and features smaller cheekpieces as a bradoon for Weymouth bits. The mouthpiece of this bit is a straight bar. The hardness of the mouthpiece material is rather medium, meaning it is slightly flexible. The bit has a width of 13.5 centimeters. The 13.5cm mouthpiece size is usually ideal for smaller and normal warmbloods.
Bit thickness
The mouthpiece has a thickness of 20mm at its thickest point. It is therefore a rather thick mouthpiece.
Reference values: normal warmbloods 16 - 18mm, ponies rather 10 - 14mm, thoroughbreds 12 - 16mm, and particularly large warmbloods, cold-blooded horses and Shire horses rather 18mm and larger.
Bradoons for Weymouth bits usually have a thickness of 12mm to 14mm.
When selecting the bit thickness and size, consider the anatomical features of the horse's mouth. You can use your fingers to test how much space there is between the tongue and palate.
Bit Material
Plastic
Food-grade plastic is used for bits, meaning no plasticizers are used, and it is well tolerated by horses. The particularly smooth texture ensures that the bit can glide easily in the mouth, even with little saliva production.
Manufacturer Information
Trust Equestrian
The Dutch bit manufacturer Trust Equestrian is characterized by its innovative spirit and craftsmanship. With the Inno Sense and Sweet Iron series, they are breaking new ground. The products are continuously developed by Trust's technical teams and strictly quality-controlled.
Mouthpiece
Straight Bar Bits
A straight bar is usually straight or slightly curved to adapt to the anatomical conditions in the horse's mouth. A straight bar mouthpiece has a sharper action than a single-jointed or double-jointed mouthpiece.
Cheekpiece
Bradoon
The bradoon is used in combination with a Weymouth bit. It is available with single-jointed and double-jointed mouthpiece variations. The difference from other snaffles lies in the rings (e.g., eggbutt rings), which are significantly smaller than the rings of normal bits. The bradoon is usually chosen half to a full cm larger than the Weymouth, as the Weymouth is a straight bar and the bradoon is jointed.
