The bit range from Trust Equestrian provides soft yet effective impulses for better communication between rider and horse. Today we would like to introduce you to the Trust Inno Sense Loose Ring Bradoon Plastic Mullen Soft 20mm 12.5 bit from the Trust Equestrian range in more detail:
The Trust Inno Sense Loose Ring Bradoon Plastic Mullen Soft 20mm 12.5 bit is made of plastic and features smaller cheekpieces as a bradoon for Weymouth bridles. The mouthpiece of this bit is a mullen. The hardness of the mouthpiece material is rather soft, meaning flexible. The bit has a size of 12.5 centimeters. This mouthpiece size is generally well-suited for athletic thoroughbreds.
Bit thickness
The mouthpiece has a thickness of 20mm at its thickest point. It is therefore a rather thick mouthpiece.
For comparison, the standard thickness for a normal warmblood is between 16mm and 18mm. For ponies, this value is usually between 10mm and 14mm. Very large warmbloods, draft horses, and Shire horses usually require a bit thicker than 18mm. A thickness of 12mm is usually suitable for a pony.
Bradoons for Weymouth bridles usually have a thickness of 12mm to 14mm.
When choosing the bit thickness and size, pay attention to the anatomical conditions of the horse's mouth. You can use your fingers to test how much space there is between the tongue and palate.
Bit material
Plastic
Food-grade plastic is used for bits, which means no plasticizers are used and it is well tolerated by horses. The particularly smooth texture ensures that the bit can slide easily in the mouth, even with little saliva production.
Manufacturer information
Trust Equestrian
The Dutch bit manufacturer Trust Equestrian is characterized by innovation and craftsmanship. With the Inno Sense and Sweet Iron series, they are breaking new ground. The products are continuously developed and strictly quality-controlled by Trust's technical teams.
Mouthpiece
Mullen bits
A mullen is usually straight or slightly curved to adapt to the anatomical conditions in the horse's mouth. A mullen mouthpiece has a sharper action than a single-jointed or double-jointed mouthpiece.
Cheekpiece
Bradoon
The bradoon is used in combination with a Weymouth bridle. It is available in single-jointed and double-jointed mouthpiece variations. The difference to other snaffles lies in the rings (e.g. eggbutt rings), which are significantly smaller than the rings of normal bits. The bradoon is usually chosen half to one cm larger than the Weymouth, as the Weymouth is a mullen and the bradoon is jointed.
