The bit range from Trust Equestrian provides soft but effective impulses for better communication between rider and horse. Today we would like to introduce you to the Trust Inno Sense Swivel Flexi Soft 20mm 12.5 bit from the Trust Equestrian range in more detail:
The Trust Inno Sense Swivel Flexi Soft 20mm 12.5 bit is made of plastic and equipped with so-called Universal rings. The mouthpiece of this bit is a straight bar. The hardness of the mouthpiece material is rather soft, meaning flexible. The bit has a size of 12.5 centimeters. The 12.5cm mouthpiece size is usually ideal for thoroughbreds.
Bit thickness
The mouthpiece has a thickness of 20mm at its thickest point, making it a rather thick mouthpiece.
For comparison, the standard thickness for a normal warmblood is between 16mm and 18mm. For ponies, this value is typically between 10mm and 14mm. Very large warmbloods, cold-blooded horses, and Shire Horses usually require a bit thicker than 18mm. A thickness of 12mm is usually suitable for a pony.
When choosing bit thickness and size, pay attention to the anatomical conditions of the horse's mouth. You can test with your fingers how much space there is between the tongue and palate.
Bit material
Plastic
Food-grade plastic is used for bits, meaning no plasticizers are used and it is well-tolerated by horses. The particularly smooth texture ensures that the bit can slide easily in the mouth, even with little saliva flow.
Manufacturer information
Trust Equestrian
The Dutch bit manufacturer Trust Equestrian is characterized by its spirit of innovation and craftsmanship. With the Inno Sense and Sweet Iron series, they are breaking new ground. The products are continuously developed by Trust's technical teams and strictly quality-controlled.
Mouthpiece
Straight bar bits
A straight bar is usually straight or slightly curved to adapt to the anatomical conditions in the horse's mouth. A straight bar mouthpiece has a sharper action than a single-jointed or double-jointed mouthpiece.
Side piece
Universal/Swivel
The Universal bit, also called Beval or Swivel, usually has rings as side pieces, with internal eyelets at the top and bottom. These allow for additional attachment of cheekpieces and reins, which makes the bit very flexible. In the Beval, the mouthpiece is attached in a central axis of the ring.
