Trust Equestrian bits are selected with the utmost care and manufactured from the best materials. Today we would like to introduce you to the Trust Inno Sense Olive Head Weymouth Bradoon Plastic Bar Mullen soft 20mm 14.5 bit from the Trust Equestrian range in more detail:
The Trust Inno Sense Olive Head Weymouth Bradoon Plastic Bar Mullen soft 20mm 14.5 bit is made of plastic and features smaller cheekpieces as a bradoon for Weymouth bits. The mouthpiece of this bit is a bar. The hardness of the mouthpiece material is rather soft, meaning flexible. The bit has a width of 14.5 centimeters. This mouthpiece size is generally suitable for very large warmbloods.
Bit thickness
The mouthpiece has a thickness of 20mm at its thickest point. It is therefore a rather thick mouthpiece.
For comparison, the standard thickness for a normal warmblood is between 16mm and 18mm. For ponies, this value is usually between 10mm and 14mm. Very large warmbloods, draft horses, and Shire Horses usually require a bit thicker than 18mm. A thickness of 12mm is usually suitable for a pony.
Weymouth bradoons usually have a thickness of 12mm to 14mm.
When selecting the bit thickness and size, pay attention to the anatomical conditions of the horse's mouth. You can use your fingers to test how much space there is between the tongue and the palate.
Bit material
Plastic
Food-grade plastic is used for bits, which means no plasticizer is used and it is well tolerated by horses. The particularly smooth texture ensures that the bit can slide easily in the mouth, even with little saliva production.
Manufacturer information
Trust Equestrian
The Dutch bit manufacturer Trust Equestrian is characterized by innovation and craftsmanship. With the Inno Sense and Sweet Iron series, they are breaking new ground. The products are constantly being developed by Trust's technical teams and strictly controlled for quality.
Mouthpiece
Bar bits
A bar is usually straight or slightly curved to adapt to the anatomical conditions in the horse's mouth. A bar mouthpiece has a sharper action than a single-jointed or double-jointed mouthpiece.
Cheekpiece
Weymouth Bradoon
The bradoon is used in combination with a Weymouth bit. It is available in single-jointed and double-jointed mouthpiece variations. The difference to other snaffles lies in the rings (e.g. olive head rings), which are significantly smaller than the rings of normal bits. The bradoon is usually chosen half to a full centimeter larger than the Weymouth, as the Weymouth is a bar and the bradoon is jointed.
