In a nutshell

  • Manufacturer: Trust Equestrian
  • Material: Plastic
  • Cheekpiece: Bradoon
  • Mouthpiece: Straight Bar
  • Hardness: Hard
  • Bit Thickness: 20mm
  • Size: cm

Trust Equestrian bits are selected with the greatest care and manufactured from the most suitable materials. We would like to introduce you to the Trust Inno Sense Bradoon Snaffle Bit with Olive Head, Plastic Mullen Mouthpiece, Hard from the Trust Equestrian range in more detail today:

The bit Trust Inno Sense Bradoon Snaffle Bit with Olive Head, Plastic Mullen Mouthpiece, Hard is made of plastic and features smaller cheekpieces as a bradoon for Weymouth bits. The mouthpiece of this bit is a straight bar. The hardness of the mouthpiece material is rather hard, almost rigid.

Bit Thickness

The bit is 20mm thick, measured at the thickest point in the area of the horse's lips. This makes it a rather thick mouthpiece.

For comparison, the standard thickness for a normal warmblood is between 16mm and 18mm. For ponies, this value is usually between 10mm and 14mm. Very large warmbloods, draft horses, and Shire Horses usually require a bit thicker than 18mm. A thickness of 12mm is usually suitable for a pony.

Bradoons for Weymouth bits usually have a thickness of 12mm to 14mm.

When selecting the bit thickness and size, pay attention to the anatomical conditions of the horse's mouth. You can use your fingers to test how much space there is between the tongue and palate.

Bit Material

Plastic

Food-grade plastic is used for bits, which means no plasticizers are used, and it is well tolerated by horses. The particularly smooth texture ensures that the bit can glide easily in the mouth, even with little saliva flow.

Manufacturer Information

Trust Equestrian

The Dutch bit manufacturer Trust Equestrian is characterized by innovation and craftsmanship. With the Inno Sense and Sweet Iron series, they are breaking new ground. The products are continuously developed by Trust's technical teams and strictly quality-controlled.

Mouthpiece

Straight Bar Bits

A straight bar is usually straight or slightly curved to adapt to the anatomical conditions in the horse's mouth. A straight bar mouthpiece has a sharper action than a single-jointed or double-jointed mouthpiece.

Cheekpiece

Bradoon

The bradoon is used in combination with a Weymouth bit. It is available in single and double-jointed mouthpiece variations. The difference to other snaffle bits lies in the rings (e.g., olive head rings), which are significantly smaller than the rings of normal bits. The bradoon is usually chosen half to a full cm larger than the Weymouth bit, as the Weymouth bit is a straight bar and the bradoon is jointed.
