The Trust Equestrian Team continuously works on innovative bits to further optimize the design and effectiveness of bits. Today, we would like to introduce you to the Trust Inno Sense Olive Head Bradoon Plastic Bar Mullen hard 20mm 13.5 bit from the Trust Equestrian range in more detail:

The Trust Inno Sense Olive Head Bradoon Plastic Bar Mullen hard 20mm 13.5 bit is made of plastic and equipped with smaller cheekpieces as a bradoon for Weymouth bits. The mouthpiece of this bit is a bar. The hardness of the mouthpiece material is rather hard, almost rigid. The mouthpiece has a size of 13.5 centimeters. The 13.5cm mouthpiece size is usually ideal for smaller and normal warmbloods.

Bit thickness

The bit is 20mm thick, measured at the thickest point in the area of the horse's commissure. It is therefore a rather thick mouthpiece.

Comparative values: normal warmbloods 16 - 18mm, ponies rather 10 - 14mm, thoroughbreds 12 - 16mm and particularly large warmbloods, cold-bloods and Shire horses rather 18mm and larger.

Bradoons for Weymouth bits usually have a thickness of 12mm to 14mm.

When selecting the bit thickness and size, pay attention to the anatomical conditions of the horse's mouth. You can use your fingers to test how much space there is between the tongue and the palate.

Bit material

Plastic

Food-grade plastic is used for bits, which means no plasticizers are used and it is well tolerated by horses. The particularly smooth texture ensures that the bit can slide easily in the mouth, even with little saliva production.

Manufacturer information

Trust Equestrian

The Dutch bit manufacturer Trust Equestrian is characterized by its innovative spirit and craftsmanship. With the Inno Sense and Sweet Iron series, they are breaking new ground. The products are continuously developed by Trust's technical teams and strictly controlled for quality.

Mouthpiece

Bar bits

A bar is usually straight or slightly curved to adapt to the anatomical conditions in the horse's mouth. A bar mouthpiece has a sharper effect than a single-jointed or double-jointed mouthpiece.

Cheekpiece

Bradoon

The bradoon is used in combination with a Weymouth bit. It is available in single-jointed and double-jointed mouthpiece variations. The difference to other snaffles lies in the rings (e.g. olive head rings), which are significantly smaller than the rings of normal bits. The bradoon is usually chosen half to a whole centimeter larger than the Weymouth bit, as the Weymouth bit is a bar and the bradoon is jointed.
