The Trust Equestrian bit range provides gentle but effective aids for better communication between rider and horse. Today, we'd like to introduce you to the Trust Bit Inno Sense Eggbutt Bridoon Flexi Soft 20mm 12.5 from the Trust Equestrian range in more detail:
The Trust Bit Inno Sense Eggbutt Bridoon Flexi Soft 20mm 12.5 is made of plastic and features smaller cheekpieces as a bridoon for Weymouth bits. The mouthpiece of this bit is a straight bar. The hardness of the mouthpiece material is rather soft, meaning flexible. The mouthpiece has a size of 12.5 centimeters. A mouthpiece size of 12.5cm is usually ideal for Thoroughbreds.
Bit thickness
The mouthpiece has a thickness of 20 millimeters at its thickest point. It is therefore a rather thick mouthpiece.
Comparison values: normal warmbloods 16 - 18mm, ponies rather 10 - 14mm, thoroughbreds 12 - 16mm and particularly large warmbloods, cold-bloods and Shire horses rather 18mm and larger.
Bridoons for Weymouth bits usually have a thickness of 12mm to 14mm.
When selecting the bit thickness and size, pay attention to the anatomical conditions of the horse's mouth. You can use your fingers to test how much space there is between the tongue and palate.
Bit material
Plastic
Food-grade plastic is used for bits, meaning no plasticizers are used, and it is well-tolerated by horses. The particularly smooth texture ensures that the bit can slide easily in the mouth, even with low saliva production.
Manufacturer Information
Trust Equestrian
The Dutch bit manufacturer Trust Equestrian is characterized by its innovative spirit and craftsmanship. With the Inno Sense and Sweet Iron series, they are breaking new ground. The products are continuously developed by Trust's technical teams and strictly controlled for quality.
Mouthpiece
Straight bar bits
A straight bar is usually straight or slightly curved to adapt to the anatomical conditions in the horse's mouth. A straight bar mouthpiece has a sharper effect than a single-jointed or double-jointed mouthpiece.
Cheekpiece
Bridoon
The bridoon is used in combination with a Weymouth bit. It is available in single and double-jointed mouthpiece variations. The difference from other snaffle bits lies in the rings (e.g., eggbutt rings), which are significantly smaller than the rings of normal bits. The bridoon is usually chosen half to one centimeter larger than the Weymouth bit, as the Weymouth bit has a straight bar and the bridoon is jointed.
