The Trust Equestrian team continuously works on innovative products to further optimize the design and effectiveness of bits. Today, we would like to introduce you to the Trust Inno Sense Liverpool Bit 2-Slots Tongue Arch Bar medium 20mm 14.5 from the Trust Equestrian range:

The Trust Inno Sense Liverpool Bit 2-Slots Tongue Arch Bar medium 20mm 14.5 is made of plastic and equipped with driving curb bit cheekpieces. The mouthpiece of this bit is a bar. The hardness of the mouthpiece material is rather medium, meaning it is slightly flexible. The bit has a size of 14.5 centimeters. The 14.5cm mouthpiece size is usually ideal for very large warmbloods.

Bit thickness

The bit is 20mm thick, measured at its thickest point in the area of the horse's lips. It is therefore a rather thick mouthpiece.

For comparison, the standard thickness for a normal warmblood is between 16mm and 18mm. For ponies, this value is usually between 10mm and 14mm. Very large warmbloods, draft horses, and Shire Horses usually need a bit thicker than 18mm. A thickness of 12mm is usually suitable for a pony.

When selecting the bit thickness and size, pay attention to the anatomical conditions of the horse's mouth. You can test with your fingers how much space there is between the tongue and the palate.

Bit material

Plastic

Food-grade plastic is used for bits, which means no plasticizers are used and it is well-tolerated by horses. The particularly smooth texture ensures that the bit can glide easily in the mouth, even with little saliva production.

Manufacturer information

Trust Equestrian

The Dutch bit manufacturer Trust Equestrian is characterized by innovation and craftsmanship. With the Inno Sense and Sweet Iron series, they are breaking new ground. The products are continuously developed by Trust's technical teams and strictly quality-controlled.

Mouthpiece

Bar Bits

A bar is usually straight or slightly curved to adapt to the anatomical conditions in the horse's mouth. A bar mouthpiece has a sharper action than a single-jointed or double-jointed mouthpiece.

Cheekpiece

Driving Curb Bits

Driving curb bits such as the Trust Inno Sense Liverpool Bit 2-Slots Tongue Arch Bar medium 20mm 14.5 are specially suited for the needs of carriage horses. There are several types of driving curb bits.

Liverpool Curb Bit The Liverpool curb bit is a classic driving bit and offers several options for rein attachment. The Liverpool curb bit is usually available with short or long shanks. It is also possible to tilt the angle of the tongue arch forward. This forward tilt relieves pressure on the bars and acts more on the tongue.

Post Curb Bit The post curb bit is also a classic driving curb bit and common for land harnessing. It offers two options for rein attachment. The lower ring is used to create leverage. When attached to the upper ring, this leverage is absent, and the bit becomes a snaffle bit.
