The Trust Equestrian Team is continuously working on innovative bits to further optimize their design and function. Today, we would like to introduce you to the Trust Bit Inno Sense Hackamore Combination Long Port Straight Bar Hard 20mm 13.5 from the Trust Equestrian range in more detail:
The Trust Bit Inno Sense Hackamore Combination Long Port Straight Bar Hard 20mm 13.5 is made of plastic and equipped with Hackamore shanks. The mouthpiece of this bit is a straight bar. The hardness of the mouthpiece material is rather hard, almost rigid. The mouthpiece has a size of 13.5 centimeters. This mouthpiece size is generally suitable for a normal warmblood.
Bit Thickness
The mouthpiece has a thickness of 20mm at its thickest point, making it a rather thick mouthpiece.
For comparison, the standard thickness for a normal warmblood is between 16mm and 18mm. For ponies, this value is usually between 10mm and 14mm. Very large warmbloods, draft horses, and Shire Horses usually require a bit thicker than 18mm. A thickness of 12mm is usually suitable for a pony.
When selecting the bit thickness and size, pay attention to the anatomical features of the horse's mouth. You can use your fingers to test how much space there is between the tongue and palate.
Bit Material
Plastic
Food-grade plastic is used for bits, meaning no plasticizers are used and it is well tolerated by horses. The particularly smooth texture ensures that the bit can glide easily in the mouth, even with little salivation.
Manufacturer Information
Trust Equestrian
The Dutch bit manufacturer Trust Equestrian is characterized by its innovative spirit and craftsmanship. With the Inno Sense and Sweet Iron series, they are breaking new ground. The products are continuously developed by Trust's technical teams and strictly quality-controlled.
Mouthpiece
Straight Bar Bits
A straight bar is usually straight or slightly curved to adapt to the anatomical conditions in the horse's mouth. A straight bar mouthpiece has a sharper action than a single-jointed or double-jointed mouthpiece.
Cheekpiece
Hackamore
The hackamore has no mouthpiece in the horse's mouth but acts more on the nose, jaw, and poll through the shanks.
