The Trust Equestrian team continuously works on innovative products to further optimize the design and effectiveness of bits. Today we would like to introduce you to the Trust Bit Inno Sense Hackamore Combination Short Tongue Port Hard 20mm 13.5 from the Trust Equestrian range in a little more detail:
The Trust Bit Inno Sense Hackamore Combination Short Tongue Port Hard 20mm 13.5 is made of plastic and equipped with hackamore shanks. The mouthpiece of this bit is a bar. The hardness of the mouthpiece material is rather hard, almost rigid. The mouthpiece has a size of 13.5 centimeters. This mouthpiece size is usually suitable for a normal warmblood.
Bit Thickness
The bit is 20mm thick, measured at the thickest point in the area of the horse's commissures. This makes it a rather thick mouthpiece.
For comparison, the standard thickness for a normal warmblood is between 16mm and 18mm. For ponies, this value is usually between 10mm and 14mm. Very large warmbloods, draft horses, and Shire Horses usually require a bit thicker than 18mm. A thickness of 12mm is usually suitable for a pony.
When selecting the bit thickness and size, pay attention to the anatomical conditions of the horse's mouth. You can test with your fingers how much space there is between the tongue and the palate.
Bit Material
Plastic
Food-grade plastic is used for bits, meaning no plasticizer is used and it is well tolerated by horses. The particularly smooth texture ensures that the bit can glide easily in the mouth, even with little saliva production.
Manufacturer Information
Trust Equestrian
The Dutch bit manufacturer Trust Equestrian is characterized by innovation and craftsmanship. With the Inno Sense and Sweet Iron series, they are breaking new ground. The products are continuously developed by Trust's technical teams and strictly quality-controlled.
Mouthpiece
Bar Bits
A bar is usually straight or slightly curved to adapt to the anatomical conditions in the horse's mouth. A bar mouthpiece has a sharper action than a single-jointed or double-jointed mouthpiece.
Cheekpiece
Hackamore
The hackamore has no mouthpiece in the horse's mouth, but its shanks act more on the nose, chin, and poll.
