The Trust Equestrian team continuously works on innovative bits to further optimize their design and function. Today, we would like to introduce you to the Trust Inno Sense Curbgag Flexi Soft Bit 20mm 14.5cm from the Trust Equestrian range in more detail:
The Trust Inno Sense Curbgag Flexi Soft Bit 20mm 14.5cm is made of plastic and features so-called curb gag rings. The mouthpiece of this bit is a straight bar. The hardness of the mouthpiece material is rather soft, meaning flexible. The bit has a width of 14.5 centimeters. The 14.5cm mouthpiece size is usually ideal for very large warmbloods.
Bit thickness
The bit is 20mm thick, measured at the thickest point in the area of the horse's lips. This makes it a rather thick mouthpiece.
For comparison, the standard thickness for a normal warmblood is between 16mm and 18mm. For ponies, this value is usually between 10mm and 14mm. Very large warmbloods, draft horses, and Shire Horses usually require a bit thicker than 18mm. A thickness of 12mm is usually suitable for a pony.
When choosing the bit thickness and size, pay attention to the anatomical conditions of the horse's mouth. You can use your fingers to test how much space there is between the tongue and palate.
Bit material
Plastic
Food-grade plastic is used for bits, meaning no plasticizers are used and it is well tolerated by horses. The particularly smooth texture ensures that the bit can slide easily in the mouth, even with little saliva production.
Manufacturer information

The Dutch bit manufacturer Trust Equestrian is characterized by innovation and craftsmanship. With the Inno Sense and Sweet Iron series, they are breaking new ground. The products are continuously developed by Trust's technical teams and strictly quality-controlled.
Mouthpiece
Straight bar bits
A straight bar is usually straight or slightly curved to adapt to the anatomical conditions in the horse's mouth. A straight bar mouthpiece has a sharper action than a single-jointed or double-jointed mouthpiece.
Cheekpiece
Curbgag
The combination bit, also known as a curb gag, ensures optimal pressure distribution on the lower jaw and mouth and is very well accepted by the horse. The second rein acts like a curb chain, which can be taken up and released as needed. This bit is very suitable for particularly strong and forward-going horses.
