The Trust Bit Inno Sense Half-Cheek Snaffle Synthetic Mullen Soft 20mm 13.5 is made of synthetic material and features half-cheek shanks as cheek pieces. The mouthpiece of this bit is a mullen. The hardness of the mouthpiece material is rather soft, meaning it is flexible. The mouthpiece has a width of 13.5 centimeters. This mouthpiece size is generally a good fit for a normal warmblood.

Bit Thickness

The mouthpiece has a thickness of 20 millimeters at its widest point. It is therefore a rather thick mouthpiece.

For comparison, the standard thickness for a normal warmblood is between 16mm and 18mm. For ponies, this value is usually between 10mm and 14mm. Very large warmbloods, cold-blooded horses, and Shire Horses usually require a bit thicker than 18mm. A thickness of 12mm is usually suitable for a pony.

Half-Cheek Snaffle

The half-cheek snaffle combines the effect of a full-cheek snaffle and a half-cheek snaffle. The full-cheek snaffle laterally restricts the horse and provides stability, and also prevents the bit rings from slipping through. The full-cheek snaffle is connected to the bridle via full-cheek cheek pieces that are pulled through the bit rings. This achieves a leveraged action depending on the degree of rein engagement.
