Product description

Stübben STEELtec Loose Ring Snaffle / Bradoon, double jointed

The bit range from Stübben STEELtec provides gentle yet effective impulses for better communication between rider and horse. Today we would like to introduce you to the Stübben STEELtec Loose Ring Snaffle / Bradoon, double jointed, from the Stübben STEELtec range in more detail:

The Stübben STEELtec Loose Ring Snaffle / Bradoon, double jointed is made of stainless steel and equipped with smaller side pieces as a bradoon for Weymouth bits. The mouthpiece of this bit is double jointed.

Cheekpiece

Mouthpiece

double jointed

The double-jointed mouthpiece is one of the most common mouthpieces on the market. This mouthpiece has two joints, is shaped more towards the mouth, and lies a little more loosely in the horse's mouth. This bit exerts pressure on the tongue, the bars, and the corners of the mouth. Caution with narrow lower jaws! The hinge points can press on the bars, which can lead to sores. The double-jointed bit exerts more pressure on the tongue compared to single-jointed bits. Bradoon

The bradoon is used in combination with a Weymouth bit. It is available in single and double-jointed mouthpiece variations. The difference to other snaffles lies in the rings (e.g., eggbutt rings), which are significantly smaller than the rings of normal bits. The bradoon is usually chosen half to a full cm larger than the Weymouth bit, as the Weymouth has a straight bar and the bradoon is jointed.

Bit Material

Stainless steel

The most common material for bits is stainless steel. Stainless steel comes in different compositions and consists of steel and various metals. Steel, in turn, is iron that has been alloyed with carbon.

To obtain stainless steel, the steel is mixed with various metals to form different alloys. The most commonly used alloy for stainless steel bits consists of steel, chromium, and nickel.
